Patriot PAWS Service Dogs provides custom-trained service dogs at no cost to disabled American veterans with mobility disabilities, PTSD, or traumatic brain injury. Dogs are trained for two years, often starting with assistance from incarcerated handlers in partnership with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Wait time is typically two to three years; veteran is paired and trained with their specific dog before placement.
