What it costs to run this site.
parade.rest is small. A VM, a database, an SMTP relay, a domain renewal. None of that is free, but none of it is expensive either. Below are the tiers we will offer when payments go live. The numbers are set so the site can pay its own bills without leaning on advertising for survival.
Payments not live
We are not currently accepting supporter payments — the checkout is not wired up. The tiers below exist so the terms are public before any money changes hands. When payments go live we will announce it on the announcements page and via email to anyone who registered an account.

Why not just take credit cards now?
Taking money carries an obligation. Once a person pays, they are owed something specific and a record of what they were owed has to live somewhere durable. We are not running that loop today and we are not going to fake it.
If you want to support the site right now, the most direct way is to use the Reading list when you buy a veteran-focused book — we receive a small Bookshop.org affiliate share, and an equal share goes to independent bookstores.
